Canon 'examining countermeasures' for 5D Mark IIIs experiencing top LCD light leak problem

Looks like the honeymoon period with Canon's beastly 5D Mark III is officially over. Over the past few weeks some users have noticed that light leaking from its top-mounted LCD can affect exposure readouts, and now the company has confirmed that it's indeed an issue. Essentially, the camera's meter can experience a shift in the readout whenever the LCD's backlight turns on in a dark situation -- ensuring frustration when composing shots. There's no word on how wide-spread the problem currently is, but Canon notes that it's "examining the countermeasures" and plans to circle back once it has a solution. Interestingly, PetaPixel also reports that some folks have experienced the phenomenon when ambient light beams down on the panel as well. This isn't the first time Canon's had an issue with a shooter after its release, but hopefully a fix will be in soon. Samsung to unveil Galaxy S III in London on May 3

You can forget all those fake renders and dubious press invites -- this is where the real Galaxy S III story begins. Samsung Mobile has just sent out the invite above to UK press, along with details of an event in London on May 3. It invites members of the press to "come and meet the next Galaxy." That'll be the Galaxy S III, then. Samsung says it plans on live streaming the event, which kicks off at 7pm local time (2pm EDT, 11am PDT), via its official Facebook page.

We'll be there, of course, bringing you live coverage of the Galaxy S III -- sorry, the "next Galaxy", as it's unveiled. Keep it locked to AC in the weeks ahead for all the latest developments, as we await one of the biggest Android announcements of the year.

?At first glance, Su Kumar could be taken for a bicyclist. Pedaling through the snarl of cars, trucks, buses, and donkey carts, he rolls right along with New Delhi?s chaotic traffic. But instead of using his feet, Mr. Kumar, who uses a wheelchair, pedals with his hands. He?s one of thousands of disabled commuters in the capital who navigate the city on wheels.

In a country that has few amenities for those with disabilities, innovation is critical. Kumar?s wheelchair looks like a three-wheeled bike with a bucket seat. He travels about 10 miles to work each day, powering himself with his hands and steering with a metal pole.

Kumar has been unable to walk since he was a child. But he considers himself fortunate. Fifteen years ago, a local charity gave him his wheelchair, which cost more than $100. He says it has made all the difference.

?I can do everything with this wheelchair,? says Kumar with a smile.

Wheelchair users not only navigate Delhi?s tricky streets, they have turned their wheelchairs into makeshift stores, barbershops, and vegetable stalls.
On a sweltering afternoon, a group of jabbering children surrounds a man juggling dripping ice-cream cones amid the honking cars. He moves with ease. It takes an experienced eye to notice that he?s in a wheelchair that is attached to his ice cream cart.

Amazing photo: Cargo vehicle docks with space station over Earth's city lights (+video)

Last week astronauts delivered an incredible image of a robotic cargo vehicle docking with the International Space Station.

Astronauts aboard the International Space Station captured an extraordinary photo of an unmanned European cargo ship as it docked to the orbiting outpost last week.

The European Space Agency's third Automated Transfer Vehicle (ATV-3) launched into orbit on March 23, and arrived at the space station five days later, on March 28. The robotic cargo ship delivered about 7 tons of supplies, including water, oxygen, food, clothing, experiments and propellant.

The robotic ATV vehicles are designed to automatically dock to the space station. In this photo, the ATV-3 is approaching its parking spot at the Zvezda service module on the Russian segment of the orbiting complex.

The photo shows the ATV-3's distinctive x-wing solar arrays bathed in light from the spacecraft's sophisticated laser guidance system. The starry night sky and the glow of lights from Earth below make up the remarkable backdrop, as the two vehicles fly 240 miles (386 kilometers) above the planet.

American astronaut Don Pettit shared a version of the docking photo on Twitter the following day.

"ATV docks, breathing fire and bringing good stuff," Pettit wrote under the name @astro_Pettit.

?The cylindrical spacecraft is 35 feet (10.7 meters) long and 14.7 feet (4.5 meters) wide. The 13-ton cargo freighter is disposable and will remain attached to the space station for up to six months before it is loaded with garbage and sent to deliberately burn up as it re-enters Earth's atmosphere.

While NASA reported a power issue on the ATV-3 last weekend and a communications glitch on Thursday (April 5), both issues have since been resolved, and all systems are functioning normally, agency officials confirmed.

The European ATV vehicles are typically named after prominent historical figures in astronomy or space exploration. The ATV-3 is named "Edoardo Amaldi," after the famed Italian physicist who helped create the European Space Agency.
